“Many people are born crying, live complaining, and die disappointed; they chew the bitter pill which they would not even know to be bitter if they had the sense to swallow it whole in a cup of patience and water. They think every other man’s burden to be light and their own feathers to be heavy as lead. Yet, if the truth were known, it is their fancy rather than their fate which makes things go so hard with them.” —Charles Spurgeon #whatireadtoday

259 sq. ft. oak cabin designed and built by Rupert McKelvie in Devon, UK
Submitted by Out of the Valley / @outofthevalley_
The black external cladding and roof help the cabin sit quietly in the landscape, by contrast all the interior furniture and panelling has been tinted white with organic oils to create a greater sense of space. The frame is made from green oak that slowly dries and darkens with time, its powered by solar and heated with a convection wood stove.
